Day 4 - Luang Prabang - Kuang Si Waterfalls - Pak Ou Caves.
The first activity of the day is the visit of the Phousi Market, a local bazaar where you will find the most
varied items for sale such as: dried buffalo skin, the famous local tea,
vegetables and tribal textile products. After visiting the market you will go
to the spectacular and famous Khuang Si waterfalls where you can cool
off with a leisurely swim in one of the many natural pools of crystal clear
water or take a walk along the paths of the forest surrounding the
waterfalls. Near the waterfall it is also possible to visit the Bear Rescue
Center or an organization that protects a particular Asian bear. After lunch
you will board a boat for an excursion on the Mekong River in the direction
of the Pak Ou Caves, that is two interconnected caves holding thousands
of golden statues, of various shapes and sizes, representing the Buddha
left here by the pilgrims on pilgrimage. Along the way back we will stop at the village of Ban Muangkeo,
famous for its textile work and the production of rice whiskey. Advice: bring a towel in case you decide to
bathe in one of the natural pools. Overnight in Luang Prabang.
