Laos Luang Prabang - Vientiane

Itinerary:

Day 1 – Luang Prabang.
Once you arrive you will be welcomed and accompanied to your hotel. Overnight.

Optional:
In the late afternoon you will be accompanied to a local house to take part in the Basi ceremony. The Basi
is a very ancient rite that derives from animism and which is celebrated to drive out evil spirits and propitiate
fortune is often held by village chiefs or by true shamans.

Day 2 - Luang Prabang - Half day City Tour & Mekong Excursion - Pak Ou Caves.
This morning, immediately after breakfast, you will start your city tour, strolling through the city center will
visit the Royal Palace Museum, where you will immerse yourself in the
daily life of the last royal families who ruled Laos before the Phatet Lao
took power. Afterwards we will visit the magnificent Wat Xiengthong with
its particular roof which is an example of the classic Laotian architecture.
Today we will also visit the beautiful Wat Mai and stupa of Wat Visoun,
soon after we will go to the Arts and Ethnology Center to better
understand what ethnic minorities live in Laos and what their customs
and traditions are. After lunch we will board a boat for an excursion on
the Mekong River in the direction of the Pak Ou Caves, two
interconnecting caves holding thousands of golden statuettes, of various
shapes and sizes, representing the Buddha left here by the pilgrims on pilgrimage. Along the way back we
will stop at the village of Ban Muangkeo, famous for its textile work and the production of rice whiskey.
Overnight in Luang Prabang.

Day 3 - Luang Prabang - Excursions with the Elephants - Kuang Si Falls.
Then the adventure begins with a 1-hour elephant ride through different landscapes, making your way
through the forests and along the Nam Khan River. A short boat ride
will take you to the incredible Tad Sae waterfalls (not in the dry
season). Here you can relax for a while in the refreshing waterfalls.
A buffet lunch will be served at the camp. After lunch, you will return
to Luang Prabang, arriving in the early afternoon. After the
excursion with the elephants you will go to the spectacular and
famous Khuang Si waterfalls where you can cool off with a
pleasant swim in one of the many natural pools of crystal clear
water or take a walk along the paths of the forest that surrounds the
waterfalls. Near the waterfall it is also possible to visit the Bear Rescue Center or an organization that
protects a particular Asian bear.

Opzionale: Vientiane night trip and dinner at a local restaurant ( $ 35 for person )
In Laos it is called Petanque, it is in practice the game of bowls very popular among the Laotians, it
represents a unique and fun way to get in touch with the local population in an authentic and fun way. After
a few games and having consumed some beer together with the locals we will go to a local restaurant
"SinDat" more commonly a BBQ lao very popular with the locals in an area outside the tourist circuit.
Overnight in Vientiane.
